Ronald K. Chen

Trustee Ronald Chen is a Rutgers University Distinguished Professor of Law, the Judge Leonard I. Garth Scholar, and Faculty Associate at Eagleton Institute of Politics.  He is former Dean of the Newark Rutgers Law School and 1st Co-Dean, resident at Newark, after the Camden and Newark Rutgers Law Schools merged to become one Law School.  He practiced law at the national New York based law firm of Cravath, Swaine, and Moore and later was New Jersey’s Public Advocate.  He is on the Boards of both the National and New Jersey American Civil Liberties Union and the editorial board of the New Jersey Law Journal.  He teaches contracts and federal courts and litigates civil rights and liberty issues with the Rutgers Constitutional Rights Clinic.
